Gazakh branch

The Gazakh branch of Ganja State Pedagogical Institute named after H. Zardabi (now the Gazakh branch of BSU) was founded on March 25, 1991, by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 69 Resolution.
Azerbaijan Institute of Teachers and its branches (now the Gazakh branch of BSU) were founded by Decree No. 349 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev dated June 13, 2000.
The Gazakh branch of Azerbaijan Institute of Teachers (now the Gazakh branch of the BSU) was regarded as a branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 1582 dated November 26, 2015.
According to Decree No. 2014 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 29, 2016, the Gazakh branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University has become the Gazakh branch of Baku State University since July 1, 2016.
There is one faculty (Pedagogical) and four departments (Languages, Literature and Methods of Their Teaching; Social and Natural Sciences; Mathematics and Informatics; and Pedagogical Subjects) operating within the branch. The total number of employees (full-time employees) is 139, of which 66 are academic staff (including a doctor of science, one professor, ten doctors of philosophy, including seven assistant professors), four scientific librarians, seven teaching support staff, and 62 employees of the support staff (administrative unit).
The number of students studying at the bachelor’s level is 1691 (full-time education -1498, part-time education -193) in 17 different specialties (including 4 of them correspondent). Master training in the branch has been conducted since the 2019/2020 academic year. 13 people study in master’s programs.
The following structures operate at the branch: Directorate; Training Department; General Department; Student and Archives Department; Student Services and Public Relations Department; Computer and Information Centre; Accounting Department; and Economic Department. At the same time, two laboratories (physical, chemical, and biological laboratories), and a study (labor training and art) operate at the branch. The branch’s auditorium fund includes Heydar Aliyev Hall, 27 auditoriums, 2 computer rooms, a reading room, a reading room of the library, a sports hall, and an assembly hall.
