International Dual Degree Programs

Under the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of Higher Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023," the significance of international dual degree programs for training highly qualified personnel in Azerbaijani higher education institutions has been emphasized.

The implementation of international dual degree programs is crucial in this regard. To align with the country's development priorities, higher education institutions in Azerbaijan should ensure that teaching is organized in accordance with the educational programs of leading universities around the world.

BSU places particular importance on adapting the content and quality indicators of education to international standards, aiming to enhance the university's global competitiveness. Continuous efforts are made in cooperation with several leading universities to implement international dual degree programs.

Currently, BSU offers 12 dual degree programs:

 

 

Dual Degree Program in "Philology (Chinese Language and Literature)" with Anhui University, China

Based on the agreement signed in 2023, this dual degree program allows students to study for two years at BSU and two years at Anhui University. Students will receive scholarships from the Chinese Ministry of Education's Language Education and Cooperation Center while studying in China.

 

Dual Degree Program in "Biotechnology" with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel 

This master's program, launched in 2023, is part of the State Program for Increasing International Competitiveness. The program is designed for those with a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Ecology and requires a high academic performance (GPA 80+), a minimum IELTS score of 6 or TOEFL score of 89, and a recommendation letter from the bachelor's institution.

 

  

Dual Degree Program in "Business Organization and Management (MBA)" with the University of Business and International Studies (UBIS), Switzerland

This program aims to train highly qualified MBA specialists in business management and is part of a cooperation agreement signed in 2022.

 

  

 

Dual Degree Program in "Biotechnology" with L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan


Signed in 2022, this program focuses on training high-level specialists in biotechnology.

 

 

 

Dual Degree Program in "Computer Science" with the Holon Institute of Technology, Israel


This bachelor’s program, established in 2021, aims to prepare experts with deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in computer science and ICT.

 
 

 

Dual Degree Program in "International Relations" with the Sh. Yessenov Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering, Kazakhstan


Signed in 2022, this program is designed to train highly qualified specialists in international relations.

 
 

 

Dual Degree Program in "Oil Chemistry" with Satbayev University, Kazakhstan


Launched in 2021, this master’s program is focused on training experts in oil chemistry and chemical engineering.

 
 

Dual Degree Program in "Business Organization and Management (Finance)" with Lincoln University, USA


This master's program, signed in 2021, aims to train highly qualified specialists in economics and management.
 

Dual Degree Program in "International Relations and Diplomacy" with UBIS, Switzerland


This master’s program, signed in 2021, aims to train experts in policy and management using both fundamental and applied methods to address practical problems in international relations.

 
 

 

Dual Degree Program in "Marine and Energy Law" with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan


Signed in 2020, this program offers joint postgraduate studies in marine and energy law in English.

 

 
 

Dual Degree Program in "Intellectual Property Law" with Lumière Lyon 2 University, France


Signed in 2021, this program will be taught in French and English, with most lessons conducted by Lyon 2 University professors. It is the first dual degree program between France and Azerbaijan in French.

 
 

 

Dual Degree Program in Law (Doctoral Level) with Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany


Signed in 2018, this doctoral program in law allows students to earn dual degrees.

 
 

Dual Degree Program in "European Law" with Würzburg University, Germany


Signed in 2011, this program ran until 2019, with 50 BSU students earning dual degrees. The German side provided intensive German language courses and internship opportunities, and German professors lectured at BSU. The project was funded by the DAAD organization in Germany.
