International Grant Projects

The EU-funded projects under the Erasmus + KA2 Program for enhancing potential in higher education offer BSU the opportunity to participate in joint projects with various universities across Europe, enabling mutual experience exchange.

The goals of the Erasmus + KA2 Program in enhancing potential in higher education are:

  • Supporting the modernization, innovation, and accessibility of higher education;
  • Enhancing the quality of higher education, ensuring its alignment with labor market and societal needs, guaranteeing equal access to education, and addressing issues such as planning, organization of teaching, overall and operational management of higher education institutions (HEIs), and internationalization;
  • Developing new and innovative education programs to improve competencies and skill levels;
  • Promoting regional integration and cooperation within and across regions through joint initiatives and the sharing of best practices.

 

EU Jean Monnet Program


The purpose of the EU Jean Monnet Program is to support and develop research related to the European Union (EU) worldwide. This program promotes advanced practices in teaching and research related to European integration at the higher education level, targeting a broad spectrum of groups across different fields.

The goals of this program are:

  • Promoting education and research on European integration among specialized educators, learners, and citizens around the world;
  • Supporting the activities of associations engaged in the study of European integration;
  • Encouraging innovation in teaching and research.

The Jean Monnet program includes the following components:

  • Jean Monnet Modules: Short-term education programs (at least 40 teaching hours per academic year) related to EU studies. These modules can focus on a specific area of European studies or be multidisciplinary. The maximum grant for three years is 30,000 euros.
  • Jean Monnet Chairs: These involve a minimum of 90 hours of teaching per academic year by university professors. The maximum grant for three years is 50,000 euros.
  • Jean Monnet Advanced Research Centers: These centers are set up at one or more universities under the guidance of a Jean Monnet Chair, providing a platform for expertise, knowledge, and resources on EU topics. The maximum grant for three years is 100,000 euros.

New Courses in Geospatial Engineering for Climate Change Adaptation of Coastal Ecosystems (GEOCLIC)

 


     

Enhancement of internal quality assurance of education in teaching, learning, and assessment in HEIs of Azerbaijan and Russia (IQAinAR): This grant project is coordinated by the University of Applied Sciences Wittenborg (Netherlands). The project aims to enhance and improve internal quality assurance in higher education institutions, strengthen local, regional, and national policies and strategies, and enhance teaching and research quality at the university level.

 

Development of Research Potential through the Network of Institutional Repositories in Azerbaijan (DIRNA): This project aims to create electronic archives to preserve academic publications and other research materials by university researchers, increasing international visibility and improving the management and accessibility of research results.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New Courses in Geospatial Engineering for Climate Change Adaptation of Coastal Ecosystems (GEOCLIC): Coordinated by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, this project aims to modernize geospatial engineering curricula at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels using new technologies. It also involves establishing a new laboratory at BSU's Faculty of Geography to enhance student training with state-of-the-art equipment, such as drones, GPS systems, geodesic equipment, and 3D printers.

         

Innovative Training Centre to support a postgraduate 3rd cycle Advanced Course to face Environmental Emergency in Azerbaijan (ITACA)

 

Mobile Applications and Game Design Master Programs at Partner Universities (MAGnUS) 

   
   

   

Innovative Training Centre to support a postgraduate 3rd cycle Advanced Course to face Environmental Emergency in Azerbaijan (ITACA): Coordinated by La Sapienza University (Italy), this project focuses on training the next generation of specialists to address environmental emergencies in oil-extracting regions around the Caspian Sea.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mobile Applications and Game Design Master Programs at Partner Universities (MAGnUS): BSU has established the Digital Research Laboratory under this grant, aiming to increase international research potential and improve educational quality. The project is coordinated by Linköping University (Sweden) and involves the development of new master’s programs in mobile applications and game design.

Green Oriented Studies in the EU  

EU Approaches to Nanomaterials - Education and Promotion (EUNANO)

Green Oriented Studies in the EU: This project aims to develop new specialists for the labor market in green fields and enhance the integration of ecological and economic challenges.

 

EU Approaches to Nanomaterials - Education and Promotion (EUNANO): This grant aims to enrich the curriculum at BSU in the synthesis, research, and application of nanomaterials, increase students' competitiveness, and raise awareness about EU regulations regarding nanomaterial safety.

 

 

 

 

BSU's Projects under the Japanese Fund

 

 

20th, 21st, and 22nd Baku Japanese Language Speech Contests: This project aims to increase and expand the level of Japanese language teaching in Azerbaijan. It encourages students to participate in the competition, fostering interest in the Japanese language. Most participants later receive Japanese government scholarships to study at Japanese universities.
