Trade Union Committee

The Baku State University Trade Union Committee (BSU TUC) was established around the same time as the university itself, making it one of the oldest trade union organizations among Azerbaijan's higher education institutions.

The committee serves as a public organization that protects the labor, social, and economic rights of employees, advocates for their legal interests, and works towards improving the social well-being and working conditions of its members. As the largest public organization at BSU, the committee unites nearly 3,000 members, including the university’s faculty, administrative, and technical staff.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring quality and affordable public catering services for employees.
  • Strengthening labor discipline and supporting employees in need.
  • Protecting employees' health and facilitating the provision of various compensations.

  • Environmental clean-up campaigns
  • Excursions and tours
  • Competitions and sports tournaments

To ensure efficient leisure activities for employees, the committee signs bilateral agreements with leading tourism companies in Azerbaijan every year.

Commitment to Employee Welfare

In addition to safeguarding the collective interests of employees, BSU TUC actively works on:

  • Enhancing members’ quality of life
  • Improving financial conditions
  • Participating in the organization of cultural and social events both within and outside the university

One of the committee’s core objectives is to encourage employee engagement in public life and economic activities, ensuring that their skills and expertise are effectively utilized in education and training processes. The committee also prioritizes defending the rights of faculty and administrative staff and taking measures to improve their living conditions.
