The Board of Trustees of a higher education institution is a governing body for strategic development, acting voluntarily.
Defining areas of strategic development of a higher education institution, supporting its transformation into educational research and innovation centers, increasing the efficiency of scientific research, ensuring the introduction of new information and educational technologies, strengthening international relations, cooperation with international organizations, holding international conferences, seminars and other events, contributing to the formation and development of its brand, developing its scientific and pedagogical potential, supporting the improvement of the quality of training and employment of graduates is the focus of the Board of Trustees activities.
The Board of Trustees may include representatives of state bodies (institutions), private institutions, scientific organizations and enterprises, public associations and associations, non-governmental organizations interested in improving and developing the activities of a higher education institution, as well as foreign citizens.
The members of the Board of Trustees of the public legal entity "Baku State University" are approved by Order No. F-213 of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 23 April 2019 and amended by Order No. F-12 dated 21 January 2021.
