The meeting was attended by Angela Lin, Vice President of Huawei for the Middle East and Central Asia region, Kira Zhou, Public Relations Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia region, Nigar Aliyeva, Program Manager for Huawei Azerbaijan, Shabnam Safarova, Advisor to the Rector of BSU on Digitalization and Information Technologies, and Asiman Ilyasov, Advisor to the Rector of BSU on Quality Assurance.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of information technology and digitalization, experience exchange, and the implementation of joint projects for the development of education and infrastructure in these areas.

Rector Elchin Babayev provided the guests with detailed information about the university’s history, activities, structure, educational, and scientific work. He noted that BSU collaborates closely with China’s prestigious universities and research institutions. One of the university’s 12 international dual degree programs is carried out in partnership with Anhui University of China. BSU, which successfully implements the State-University-Industry concept, is also interested in cooperating with international companies.

Huawei’s Vice President, Angela Lin, expressed the company’s readiness to share its experience and resources in the field of education with BSU.

At the end of the meeting, the parties decided to take concrete steps regarding future cooperation. In the near future, a group of teachers and students who are involved in ICT education at BSU will be engaged in training sessions in artificial intelligence and 5G fields. The “ICT Talents” program will be launched at BSU.

A plan of action reflecting concrete steps in the development of ICT skills, research, education, knowledge, and experience exchange between the university and Huawei will be approved.
