BSU’s Position in the THE 2026 Rankings
Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most prestigious university ranking organizations, has announced the list of the world’s best universities for 2026.
Among 2,191 higher education institutions featured, Baku State University (BSU) was ranked in the 1501+ range, achieving the second-highest position among Azerbaijani universities.
According to THE’s 2026 results, BSU demonstrated growth across several key indicators:
· Teaching increased from 22.9 to 30.1 (+31.4%)
· Research Environment rose from 9.1 to 10.1 (+11%)
· Research Quality improved from 17.8 to 21.2 (+19.1%)
· Industry Income grew from 19 to 21 (+10.5%)
· International Outlook advanced from 38 to 45.4 (+19.5%)
In addition, BSU continues to strengthen its international reputation across various THE rankings:
· THE Impact Rankings: 401–600 range
· THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings: 201–250 range
· THE Physical Sciences Subject Rankings: 1001+ range
· THE Engineering Subject Rankings: 1001–1250 range
These results reflect the university’s growing academic performance, research potential, and commitment to sustainable development in line with global standards.
