BSU Publishes Textbook Lessons of the First Turkological Congress

To mark the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, Baku State University (BSU) has published a textbook entitled Lessons of the First Turkological Congress.
The textbook was prepared by Academician Nizami Jafarov, Head of the Department of General Linguistics at BSU's Faculty of Philology. The publication was reviewed by the BSU Academic Council, approved as a textbook, and published by the BSU Publishing House.
The textbook presents the proceedings and outcomes of the First Turkological Congress from a scholarly perspective. Particular attention is devoted to the Congress's discussions and resolutions on the alphabet, orthography, terminology, the literary language, language education, Turkic languages, and key issues in Turkic history. The publication will serve as a valuable resource for students of philology, history, and Oriental studies, as well as for researchers and anyone interested in the Congress's rich scientific and cultural legacy.
The idea for the textbook was proposed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev. The scientific editor is Professor Shahin Mustafayev, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Full Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The reviewers are Professor Mahira Huseynova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and Professor Maharram Mammadov, Doctor of Philological Sciences.
