BSU Prepares Action Plan for the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”

In connection with the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in Azerbaijan, Baku State University (BSU) has prepared a comprehensive Action Plan. The document was discussed and approved at the first meeting of the BSU Academic Council in 2026.
It was noted that, by decree of President Ilham Aliyev, 2026 has been declared the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in Azerbaijan. This decision aims to preserve historical heritage in urban development and architecture, promote modern approaches, and create a sustainable and inclusive urban environment. In addition, Azerbaijan will host the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) this year, which further increases the responsibilities of BSU’s academic and administrative staff.
Within the framework of the Action Plan, BSU plans to organize international and national conferences, roundtables, seminars, and training programs. The plan also includes the organization of thematic events and classes at BSU faculties, the Gazakh Branch, the College of Economics and Humanities, and the “Young Talents” Lyceum.
Throughout the year, BSU will publish research articles in the field of urban development and architecture, conduct specialized studies, and implement educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of the younger generation in this area.
