BSU Marks Day of Knowledge
Baku State University (BSU) held a ceremony to mark the Day of Knowledge and the start of the new academic year. The event began with the National Anthem performed by the Ministry of Defense Air Force Orchestra and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
Rector Elchin Babayev congratulated teachers, students and parents, noting the significance of 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” the 30th anniversary of the Constitution and the 5th anniversary of the Victory in Karabakh. He emphasized BSU’s contribution to the country’s development and expressed confidence in students’ success.
Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education Nijat Mammadli conveyed congratulations on behalf of Minister Emin Amrullayev, highlighting BSU’s role as a “school of science and life” and the importance of well-educated youth for Azerbaijan’s future.
The ceremony was attended by members of parliament, public figures and parents. Students with outstanding achievements, including the daughter of a fallen hero, also addressed the audience. The event concluded with the performance of the BSU anthem.
