BSU Lecturer to Conduct Research at New York University Under the Fulbright Program

Zarifa Nazirli, a lecturer at the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of European and American Countries of the Faculty of History at Baku State University (BSU) and a PhD in History, has been selected as a 2026 Fulbright Program awardee. The program is jointly administered by the U.S. Department of State and the Institute of International Education.
As part of the program, from August 17, 2026, to January 5, 2027, Zarifa Nazirli will conduct research on international security and global issues at the Center for Global Affairs at New York University (USA), where she will also have the opportunity to gain advanced international academic experience.
Her research will be carried out under the academic supervision of distinguished experts in international security and global affairs, Waheguru Pal Singh Sidhu and Thomas Hill. The program also provides access to New York University's library and other academic resources, opportunities to participate in scientific conferences and seminars, and the possibility of attending specialized courses as an auditor.
