BSU Hosts “Pearls of Art” Lecture-Concert within 17th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival

As part of the 17th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, the Scientific, Methodological and Qualification Center in Culture of the Ministry of Culture organized a lecture-concert entitled “Pearls of Art” at Baku State University (BSU). The festival, jointly held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, is a landmark event in the country’s cultural life.
BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, faculty members and students attended the event. In their opening remarks, BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzayev and Acting Director of the Scientific, Methodological and Qualification Center in Culture Vugar Humbatov emphasized the significance of the festival, highlighting Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s outstanding contribution not only to Azerbaijani music and stage art but also to the preservation of oral traditions, the promotion of professional music at home and abroad, and the development of national culture and journalism.
The program featured a lecture by Pike Akhundova, Head of the Department at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, on “Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s Role in the Development of the Azerbaijani School of Composition.”
