BSU Hosts Discussion on Strategic Priorities for Science and Higher Education (2027–2030)

A meeting dedicated to the science and higher education priorities of the project “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030” was held at Baku State University (BSU).
The event brought together Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education; Maleyka Abbaszadeh, Chairperson of the Board of the State Examination Center; deputy ministers of science and education; heads of relevant ministry divisions; and rectors of higher education institutions.
A presentation titled “Strengthening the Ecosystem of Science and Higher Education” was delivered at the meeting. The presentation highlighted the results achieved in the field of science and higher education during 2022–2025 and outlined the planned directions of activity through 2030.
During the discussions, participants emphasized priorities such as expanding access to higher education, modernizing curricula and quality standards, enhancing international competitiveness and mobility, fostering public–private partnerships in science and higher education, strengthening scientific capacity, and ensuring financial sustainability.
The participants also exchanged views on setting priorities for the coming years, developing a higher education ecosystem that meets modern demands, and further strengthening the role of science in the country’s societal development.
