Huseyn Mikayil oghlu Mammadov – Doctor of Physical Sciences, Professor
- Born on June 2, 1974, in the village of Havush, Sharur District.
- He enrolled at Baku State University (BSU) in 1991. In 1996, he graduated from BSU with a diploma of distinction in physics. From 1996 to 1999, he studied at the postgraduate program in the Department of Physical Electronics at the Faculty of Physics at BSU.
- From 2000 to 2006, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Physical Electronics, Faculty of Physics, BSU.
- From 2006 to 2016, he was an associate professor at the same department.
- From 2016 to 2019, he served as the vice dean of the Faculty of Physics and associate professor in the Department of Physical Electronics.
- From 2019 to 2020, he was the chairman of the Trade Union Committee of BSU and a professor in the Department of Physical Electronics at the Faculty of Physics.
- Since 2020, he has been the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at BSU and a professor in the Department of Physical Electronics at the Faculty of Physics.
- He defended his dissertation in 2000 and received the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
- In 2017, he defended his doctoral dissertation and earned the degree of Doctor of Physical Sciences.
- He is the author of more than 150 scientific papers and 3 books published in national and international scientific journals.
- He has presented at over 20 prestigious international scientific conferences in foreign countries.
- He is the supervisor of 6 doctoral dissertations.
- He is a member of the scientific societies: International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) and European Materials Research Society (EMRS), and a member of the editorial board of the "Journal of Low Dimensional Systems."
- He is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.
- In 2019, he was awarded the "Taraggi" medal and the "Baku State University 100th Anniversary (1919-2019)" Jubilee Medal by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
