The honorary title of Doctor of Baku State University was conferred upon ABDULLATIF BANDAROGHLU, an Iraqi poet of Turkmen descent, translator, literary scholar, publicist, folklorist, and researcher, and a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, by the decision of the Scientific Council of BSU in 1992.
